Future Foresight Strategy 

Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Future launched the Future Foresight Strategy (PDF) which involves building future models for the health, educational, developmental, and environmental sectors, harmonising the current governmental policies, building national capacities in the field of future foresighting, establishing international partnership, and launching research reports on the future of the various sectors in the country.

The strategy aims at setting governmental systems that make foresighting the future a part of the strategic planning in the government, and at launching studies and scenarios to forecast the future of all priority sectors in addition to setting plans and policies based on that.

The UAE Future Foresight Platform

In 2017, the UAE launched the UAE Future Foresight Platform, a smart and interactive electronic platform to support its efforts to spread a culture of foresight and awareness in preparation for the challenges ahead. This platform is a reference for future foresight and capacity-building that documents and shares knowledge through providing references, tools and resources in the field of future foresight. The UAE future foresight platform will support the execution of the country's strategy to anticipate opportunities and challenges in vital fields, analyse them and execute long-term pre-emptive plans to achieve national goals.

Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils

The UAE Government signed an agreement with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to host the four editions of the Annual Meeting for Shaping the Future from 2016. The UAE-WEF partnership will aim to boost efforts of studying and foreseeing the future in a number of vital sectors related to sustainable development, improving life standards, and finding effective solutions to anticipated challenges. The partnership will also help create platforms for the experts of the Global Future Councils to facilitate communication between government organisations, private enterprises, expert houses and consulting firms. These platforms will enable collaboration in building capacity through training courses, workshop, papers and publications related to vital sectors.
