The world today faces an urgent need to improve energy efficiency, not only to protect the environment, but also to ensure energy security and support economic growth. In this context, the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance, launched by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, represents a pioneering initiative and the first international platform to bring governments, the private sector, and international organizations together under one umbrella to accelerate global action on this critical issue.

Through this alliance, the UAE is leading a collective effort to advance energy efficiency, building on a strong national track record in climate action and innovation. The alliance aims to double the global rate of energy efficiency improvement to more than 4 percent annually by 2030, a target that aligns with international commitments and the historic UAE Consensus. This ambitious goal places energy efficiency at the heart of global efforts to transition toward more sustainable energy systems.

The alliance has already generated significant international interest, with more than 40 countries expressing their readiness to join. Work is currently underway to expand partnerships and build a global network that brings together governments, companies, financial institutions, and research and innovation centers.

The importance of this alliance lies not only in its role as a platform for dialogue, but also in its practical, action-oriented approach. It seeks to support policy development, facilitate knowledge sharing, improve access to financing, and empower countries to achieve their national energy efficiency targets.
