This year's Emirati Women's Day takes on particular significance as it is celebrated under the theme "We Emerge Stronger and Better", announced by H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the "Mother of the Nation".

The theme reflects the spirit of the UAE, which consistently looks to the future with ambition, responsibility, and determination to progress. This year's celebration is exceptional, extending over an entire month to reflect the deep appreciation across the nation for the achievements of Emirati women and to reaffirm that women's empowerment is a sustainable institutional approach rooted in the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace, since the establishment of the Union.

The UAE's wise leadership has continued to strengthen this approach through legislation, policies, and opportunities that have enabled women to progress from participation to influence, leadership, and decision-making, establishing women's empowerment as a national foundation that strengthens their capabilities and expands their presence in specialised and future-focused sectors

Emirati Women's Day represents a national occasion on which we proudly reflect on an exceptional journey of achievement and contribution, and celebrate the pivotal role played by our Emirati sisters in the UAE's development journey. It is not only a day to recognise what has been achieved, but an opportunity to look ahead to the future roles of women and reaffirm our confidence in their ability to continue contributing to the UAE's progress and strengthening its position among the world's most advanced and prosperous nations.

The tax sector is one of the strategic sectors that requires a high degree of accuracy, professional competence, and advanced capabilities in analysis, innovation, and the application of legislation and digital systems. Emirati women have demonstrated their capabilities in this field, becoming key partners in developing operations and services, enhancing tax compliance, improving the customer experience, and supporting digital transformation and institutional innovation. Their growing presence in specialised and leadership positions reflects the maturity of the UAE's women's empowerment journey and their active role in building a more efficient, agile, and transparent tax system that supports fiscal sustainability and the competitiveness of the national economy.

The Federal Tax Authority takes pride in the progress it has achieved in strengthening the representation and contribution of Emirati women across its various sectors and job levels. The Authority's latest data reflects their significant representation, with hundreds of female Emirati employees accounting for approximately 45% of its total workforce, with comparable representation in specialised fields and the tax sector, and approximately 30% of leadership positions. These indicators demonstrate the Authority's success in developing qualified Emirati female talent that contributes to advancing the tax system, digital transformation, and institutional innovation. The Authority also continues to provide career pathways that enable female employees to progress into leadership roles and participate more extensively in strategic projects and decision-making.

The Authority is committed to strengthening institutional engagement with its female employees through the Women's Council, the annual forum, and dialogue sessions that highlight success stories, support the exchange of expertise, and inspire young talent. The Authority also adopts flexible policies support a balance between professional and family responsibilities, thereby enhancing stability, productivity, and innovation. The Authority views women's empowerment as a sustainable journey that progresses from providing opportunities to developing leaders, and from supporting participation to maximising impact and creating new success stories.

On this important national occasion, Emirati Women's Day, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all my sisters at the Federal Tax Authority, in recognition of their dedicated work, professional competence, and steadfast commitment to the values of government service and institutional excellence. Your dedication and contributions have had a clear impact on advancing the Authority's work, enhancing its services, and strengthening the efficiency of the tax system.
