The United Arab Emirates has a substantial budget of 60.3 billion dirhams for the fiscal year 2019 - the largest in the country's history, without deficit- and is in line with the projects and initiatives that are part of the federal government’s strategy. The federal budget focuses achieving excellence in five main areas in line with the UAE 2021 vision.

The UAE budget has increased by 302 times over the past 47 years and has been distributed in several sectors, including social development and social benefits, which amounts to 25.5 billion dirhams, or 42.3% of the total budget. A further 17% has been allocated to upgrading the education system, while 7.3% will go to the health sector. To contribute to the UAE 2021 vision, the General Budget Appropriations for the fiscal year 2019 have been distributed to ensure that ministries can effectively implement their strategies and initiatives.

The Federal General Budget has consistently made qualitative leaps year upon year. The common denominator among the 47 budgets has been the steadfast focus on achieving a decent life for citizens and residents. The federal government has paid close attention to sectors directly related to citizens, as well as their services.
