Mukhrafa" Initiative
Subject of Consultation:
The General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments & Zakat has launched its third specialized campaign, "Mukhrafa", to calculate and pay Zakat on dates (palm produce), in partnership with the UAE Council for Fatwa, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority. This campaign aims to raise community awareness about the rulings of Zakat on dates, in alignment with the UAE's strategy to serve society and realize our wise leadership's vision of innovation and excellence in providing services that bring happiness to the public.
Anticipated Decisions Arising from Implementation:
1.Prepare and launch a digital educational series on social media platforms explaining the rulings of Zakat on dates in a simplified way.
2.Engage Sharia scholars and agricultural experts to present the campaign's content, ensuring the integration of religious and practical aspects.
3.Distribute printed and digital guidebooks and educational materials in collaboration with partner entities.
4.Conduct introductory workshops in the country's main agricultural regions to ensure outreach to the target audience.
5.Encourage the public to pay Zakat on time through digital platforms or authorized entities.
Expected Outcomes:
1.Increase awareness among farmers, landowners, and the community at large about the rulings and calculation methods of Zakat on dates.
2.Raise the rate of compliance with paying agricultural Zakat, supporting beneficiaries and fulfilling the objectives of Sharia.
3.Strengthen the Authority's image as a pioneering institution in creating innovative endowment and Sharia-awareness initiatives.
4.Achieve effective integration between religious and agricultural government entities in serving the UAE community.
5.Encourage the public to adopt correct religious practices and link them to seasonal occasions, such as date harvesting.
