Description: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) is seeking views on the newly launched update to the Wage Protection System (WPS). This consultation forms part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to enhance wage payment mechanisms and improve system efficiency in line with digital transformation within the labour market. The updated system enables employers to manage wage payments through an expanded range of approved digital platforms and channels, in coordination with financial institutions licensed by the Ministry. This ensures the timely, accurate, and regular disbursement of wages. The update also strengthens transparency and compliance, accelerates registration and verification processes, reduces wage delays and labour disputes, and supports electronic integration with relevant government and financial systems. Objective: The objective of this consultation is to enhance the protection of workers' rights, ensure the regular and timely payment of wages, and improve transparency and compliance across the labour market Proposed Decision: The Ministry proposes the implementation of the updated Wage Protection System, including the expansion of approved digital salary payment channels, to enhance system efficiency and support the long-term sustainability of the labour market.
