The Digital Economy Strategy aims to double the contribution of the digital economy to the UAE's gross domestic product (GDP) from 9.7 per cent in 2022 to 19.4 per cent within 10 years. It also seeks to enhance the position of the UAE as a hub for digital economy in the region and globally.
Launched in April 2022, the Digital Economy Strategy aims to double the contribution of the digital economy to the UAE's gross domestic product (GDP) from 9.7 per cent in 2022 to 19.4 per cent within 10 years. It also seeks to enhance the position of the UAE as a hub for digital economy in the region and globally.
The strategy will define the priorities of digital economy and ensure the contribution of all other economic sectors to support it. It will use a unified mechanism to measure its growth and indicators periodically.
It includes more than 30 initiatives and programmes targeting 6 sectors and 5 new areas of growth.
The UAE established a Council for Digital Economy to support the goals of the strategy and enhance the implementation of its initiatives in all economic sectors.
