The early years shape a child's personality, values and sense of belonging. During this time, school acts as more than a place for learning - it is where knowledge connects with values and where ties to language, family, community and nation are strengthened. A clear educational vision is vital to nurture a confident, well-rounded generation, proud of its Emirati identity and ready to engage with the world.
Driven by its vision of placing the child and their identity at the core of education, the UAE Ministry of Education has made the teaching of Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Social Studies mandatory at kindergarten level across private schools. This reflects the Ministry's commitment to fostering a strong value system early, instilling a sense of belonging and respect - and a deep connection to the mother tongue - while providing age-appropriate knowledge of family, society and national geography
This approach goes beyond mandating subjects, offering a framework that ties national goals to classroom practices. It ensures Arabic remains a key language of communication; nurtures balanced religious and moral awareness and introduces social and national concepts to build responsibility and create a deep connection to the homeland.
In aligning with the national education system, private schools play a key role in helping shape a unified vision for early childhood while preserving curriculum diversity. Their commitment enables the translation of national goals into daily practices through skilled teachers, gamified learning and family engagement, ensuring holistic efforts that priorities the child's growth and development.
The launch of this new framework marks a strategic step toward a stronger Emirati school system, empowering students from the start of their educational journey. When children are nurtured through their language, culture and identity, they grow into confident individuals ready to shape the nation's future. This is a true investment in future generations and in building a more conscious, cohesive society.
