applying the insurance protection extension system to Gulf citizens working outside their countries in any of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, contributes to achieving social stability and reassurance and encouraging the transfer of national labor among the Council states, which enriched the Council’s economic and social experience and made it one home for all

the number of Gulf citizens who are on their job and registered in the system in the Gulf Cooperation Council States according to the latest statistics for the last quarter of 2019 indicates that the number of Gulf citizens registered in the system has reached (19,234), of whom (7,288) are registered in the United Arab Emirates at the highest rate in terms of hosting the Gulf citizens working in the GCC countries. The statistics also indicate that the number of Emirati citizens registered in the system and working in the GCC countries is 134

the UAE representative in the meetings of the permanent technical committee for civil retirement and social insurance bodies in the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), stated that the most important characteristic of the system is the provision of insurance protection to the Gulf citizen who works outside his country in any of the Council state and that he is covered by insurance, as if he were working in his home country. So, at the end of his service he can obtain a retirement pension where the entitlement conditions apply to him or the end of service gratuity is paid thereto

this system, as the case with retirement systems in the Gulf States, is characterized by interdependence, so that its impact extends to the beneficiaries whom the insured was supporting during his life. This reinforces the importance of the keenness of Gulf citizens working in any of the GCC states to ensure their registration and subscription, in order to guarantee their rights as well as the rights of their families in the future, and to follow up the procedures of their registration and subscription through their employer or the insurance authority responsible for their registration

registration and subscription for Gulf citizens working in the country or in any of the GCC States is mandatory in accordance with the decision issued by the GCC Supreme Council, which provides that each state is obliged to extend the umbrella of insurance protection to its citizens working abroad (in

other GCC countries) In public and private sectors, so that the provisions of pension laws applied by their country shall be applicable to them
