Vision
The vision of U.ae is to provide all government services through one, unified digital platform in a bid to be the best in the world in providing digital government services.
Features
U.ae engages all entities and the public in co-designing and co-creating services. It leverages the digital government enablers in a way that government acts as a platform of reusable solutions. It stands out as a service platform due to the following features:
- It is a platform that integrates all services of the UAE Government. It acts like a one-stop shop and the one trusted platform to get all services.
- It is customer-centric and is user-friendly.
- Its seamless interface helps users to connect on a personal level as it guides through steps and builds trust.
- It has used the proactive approach by making use of data as the main driver in designing, enhancing and developing services.
- It enables government entities to add new services with no or minimal development efforts.
Development of U.ae
U.ae was developed after a focused digital study conducted with the UAE’s citizens and residents to further understand their needs, pain points and expectations from digital government services. 452 people above the age of 18, living in the UAE were surveyed, producing the following top 10 ideas:

Outcome
More than 90 per cent of government services will be provided through U.ae by 2023. This portal is expected to fulfill the vision of H. H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in the area of providing the best government services, through one unified platform.
U.ae aims to:
- provide the best government services in the world as per the vision: We the UAE 2031
- fulfill the UAE Strategy for Government Services
- fulfill National Policy for Quality of Digital Life.
Further, the API First Guidelines (PDF, 1 MB) guide government entities and vendors on API implementation to accelerate the development of government APIs. It acts as a comprehensive guide in designing and developing the APIs in government organisations. This approach will accelerate innovation, ensure responsive and customer-focused initiatives and capitalize on the power of the community at large for public value creation.
